Playing with the nap of the turf, the breeze and sun gods and the kind of slight tilt in the terrain favoured by long distance skate board pests, Mods started brightly and after 13 minutes Sam LLOYD's whizz to the corner could only have been halted by lashings of defensive pesticide. The arrival of the second half brought Corinthians the same ideal conditions we had but their players were just lacking sufficient thrust to penetrate our magnificently, tenacious defence. We soaked it all up then with 14 minutes remaining Llong Distance LLOYD became headlong Short Stuff SAM. It needed scoring and he took it well with the touchline millimetres away. This restored our seven point advantage as 4 minutes earlier Corinthians had scored their only points of the match. BEEFCURRY lobbed a simple three-pointer with 5 mins. left to ensure victory. This was a very good, hard, absorbing game of rugby with very little quarter given by either side. The result was fair and keeps us well in the hunt for Merit Table honours.
