O.M.C.C. 2007 SEASON
MATCH SUMMARIES
--------------------------------------
2ND TEAM PROMOTED!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO RED BULL AND THE BOYS.
In the continuing absence of inspirational leader, Red Bull, with a chipped finger nail, stand-in Captain Nimmo saw the team through to the victory that sees them promoted to League 3 at their 83rd attempt. Mad Dog bagged a five-for but Shadwell set a stiff target of 226 for the win. Despite the early loss of Kneesan Towse for 2, steady progress was made and partnerships were built. Sean of the Dead and young Heavysides Swain settled the innings. Heavysides and Lord Swain carved a pacey 69 to tilt the balance in our favour. Suttie and Lady Penelope's driver continued the charge but it required a skilful knock by Scott Potter to see us home.

WEEKEND PREVIEW (8/9/07)
-----------------------------------------------------

TWO games remain in Mods' quest for silverware.

Borrill returns from holiday to skipper the 1st XI whilst John Heald returns from multiple limb amputation and vital organ removal in further bid to secure his maiden ton with the 3rd XI.

Final round of fixtures next week see the 1st XI against Great Preston (H), the 2nd XI (hopefully) clinching the championship at Ledsham and the 3rd XI hosting the new champions of their league, Farsley, at Cookridge Lane on Sunday.

Celebratory tea and muffins in the club afterwards. Hurrah.
