Playing downhill with the wind and sun at our backs in the first half we really needed the comfort of a decent half time lead. Two relatively straightforward penalties were missed in the first eight minutes at 0-0 and apart from one "held up" over the line, that was the nearest we came to scoring. We had equal possession but turned 10-0 down, conceding a try in the 20th minute and a penalty 5 mins. before half time. The second period was pretty much a stalemate: Thorne grabbing the only points: a penalty 30 minutes from the end.
It was a muscular game with no quarter given nor asked by both teams. Mods gave absolutely full effort but it wasn't quite enough today.
