1st XV v Skipton (H) WON 32-7 (h.t. 3-7)

Playing the first half uphill into a very bright winter sun we did well to hang in for 3-7 down. We'd showed enough signs to suggest we could turn Skipton over in the second period once the elements were in our favour. By the 47th minute we had edged ahead when Stead scored the first of his brace. The game was finally made safe with a two try burst in two minutes, firstly by Tes Taylor then by lively scrum half, Adam Arif; Croft converting one of them. Stead popped over again on 72 then the icing on the cake was provided by the returning Barry Clipsham who dummied and danced his way over from 30 metres out; Croft accepting the two point conversion from bang in front. Well done Mods: a very valuable two points.
