MATCH SUMMARIES
--------------------------------------
MATT WALKER CLAIMS HIS SECOND HATRICK OF THE SUMMER
Shadwell must be sick of the sight of Matt Walker and Lewis Gomersall (we are!). For the second time this season against Shadwell Walker took five wickets (inc. his second hatrick of the season) and Lewis topped his earlier score with 31 n.o.. Gomersall and Ami carved a match-winning ninth wicket partnership of 50 to take the 1st XI points.
Walkden and Simon Swain might light work of Leos in 2nd XI cruise. Table -toppers still.
3rd XI showed good fight before being downed by the Ring Road Hill men.
WEEKEND OF 1/9/07
All teams have league
fixtures on Saturday.
WEEKEND PREVIEW (1/9/07)
-----------------------------------------------------
Just three more games to go for all three teams. The best chance of honours lies with the 2nd XI. They currently dance atop the table. A climb into Div. 3 is long overdue; let's hope we move as Champions!!
The 1st XI have only lost one fixture since mid June and this weekend have a chance to avenge an earlier defeat at the hands of Shadwell (by 42 runs). Matt Walker took 5-24 that day in restricting Shadwell's total but only Jimmy Baker's 36 stood out in the top order: Mods relying heavily on Lewis Gomersall's late 22 not out to scrape past the hundred mark.
According to the official League table the 3rd XI have secured their Div "B" ranking for next season with last week's tremendous win at Leeds Sikh. They are 19 points in front of the relegation spots.
