Match report 2nd XV v Knaresborough Another points-fest for the Modernians' at Cookridge Lane. This time it was th turn of the 2nd XV to turn it on. Playing uphill first the bright sun played tricks on the Mods' early efforts but quarter of an hour in JAKE BUCKLEY scored a penalty to help the team settle. CARL BLACKBURN crashed over for the game's first try, converted by BUCKLEY. 10-0 at the break. Mods' finished the first period much the stronger and more secure handling should see a comfortable win. Tries early on by NEIL BEEFORTH and MARC GILFOYLE made certain of the victory but better handling in the backs would have seen us 40 points clear by the hour. It wasn't to be and two BUCKLEY tries were scant reward for a dominant show by the Twos. The forwards laid the platform with Glen Blane, Phil Gray and Carl Blackburn taking the eye and the backs finished it off. BUCKLEY slotted two conversions. Conje.
